Bill Pearson

Bill Pearson offers an extensive background in operations as a CEO, CFO and board member in public and private companies, which lends to his perspective in being able to identify the right candidate for these types of positions. He understands what traits are needed to excel in financial, executive and board roles, and is skilled at sourcing talent to fill each. Bill possesses a particular expertise in recruiting management psychologists and consultants who accelerate individual, team and business performance.
Serving as a counselor to clients, Bill’s work extends beyond recruiting. He regularly advises on a firm’s competitive environment, compensation structure and other management considerations. Within this advisory capacity, Bill has coached dozens of senior executives in large companies.
BACKGROUND
In addition to his role with Windale Group, Bill is an investor and advisor in media, telecommunications, and business services. He has worked with companies such as Veronis Suhler Stevenson to assist in operating improvements in portfolio investments; Halyard Capital to support portfolio investments; Nautic Partners to support investments in manufactured products and business-to-business media; Starbucks to assist in developing media strategy; JP Morgan Capital Partners for transaction advisory services; Catalyst Investors to support media and telecommunications investment activities and to lead the start-up of a television broadcast company; Chrys Capital, to develop new business platforms; and Wachovia Capital to support media and telecommunications investments.
From 1999 to 2002, Bill was chairman, president and CEO of RadioWave, Inc. a leader in internet-based media technology infrastructure and services. From 1997 to 1999, Bill was an operating affiliate of McCown DeLeeuw & Co, Inc., a New York and California-based private equity firm with approximately $1.5 billion under management. With McCown DeLeeuw, Bill helped form and build Outsourcing Solutions, Inc. (OSI) into the second largest accounts receivable management company. From 1995 to 1997, Bill was an independent consultant and investor. During that period, he formed a radio broadcasting company, Broadcasting Partners Holdings, LLC, and served as executive vice president of Prodigy Communications, Inc., leading its marketing, sales, and product development activities. From 1988 to 1995, Bill was chief financial officer and shared CEO responsibilities for Broadcasting Partners, Inc., a major radio broadcasting company.
Bill began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he co-founded and led the consumer financial services practice.
EDUCATION
Bill holds an MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. and M.A. from Wesleyan University. He is a certified user of Hogan, an assessments solution for employee selection and development. Bill is also fluent in French.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
An active member of the arts community, Bill serves on the boards of Young Audiences/New York, where he is a past president and treasurer; and Young Audiences, Inc., where he is chair. The organization has more than 30 chapters and affiliates that serve over 5 million students each year with arts programming. He is also a director of CityLore; the National Council for the Traditional Arts and the Osborn, a leading continuing care retirement community.
Bill previously lectured on economics at Harvard University for ten years. He is the author and/or producer of several books, articles and recordings.
